Looking for some holiday gifts, I came across this year's Oxfam gift store, and thought to share it. I'm not made of money, but I think a bucket of composting worms is pretty reasonable at $18. Or a load of manure, or a hive of bees? Looking for something a bit bigger? How about a tribe of goats at $275? That's a pretty great price for six goats.
If you're not into farming, Oxfam also has a variety of gifts specifically for women and children, such as school, infant and home supplies, which are certain to bring a smile to someone's face.
The Oxfam store is a simple, wonderful way to show someone you love that you care - about them and about hungry people around the globe.
How does it work? You pick out which gift you'd like a struggling farm family to receive, and your loved one gets a card, letting them know what vital agricultural element or home product has been gifted in their name.
If you are trying to figure out what to get for someone who has everything, please consider giving something to someone who has practically nothing.
