For the price it made sense that she didn't read the manuscript, so I didn't feel like I could quite convey to her what the main point was.Ruth Madisonhttp://www.ruthmadison.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-15516545945050941082012-01-29T14:34:25.544-05:002012-01-29T14:34:25.544-05:00Yes, this is the first time my editor has helped m...Yes, this is the first time my editor has helped me write the blurb, and I am thrilled. Always before, it was left entirely up to me.

It's wonderful to have the editor's help, since they are the only ones who read the MS as thoroughly as you do before publication.

I think it might be worth it for self-published writers to find editors willing to help overhaul the Anne Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00165000490599147009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-80532024267664188442012-01-29T14:28:55.704-05:002012-01-29T14:28:55.704-05:00Oh, it's nice to have help! But I agree, they are the most important factor in my decision to buy a book.Ruth Madisonhttp://www.ruthmadison.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-28507975979597614982012-01-29T14:25:26.758-05:002012-01-29T14:25:26.758-05:00Oh, yes, Ruth - very important. Even more important than the cover, for my buying habits.

They wouldn't be annoying at all to me if I were better at writing them, aside from the awful sound of the word "blurb." One of my best, I think. My editor from PPB, Julie, took what I initially wrote and re-wrote it, and she did a much better job that I normally do with blurb writing. It's a very professional-sounding blurb.

I am very pleased. :)Anne Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00165000490599147009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-18835279504991662812012-01-29T13:31:56.353-05:002012-01-29T13:31:56.353-05:00Sounds great!
