It's been such an integral part of reading for so long, especially in genre lit, that I can't argue with it, even if technology changes. I can definitely see how it could benefit authors for people to sample easily through borrowing.

But, I can understand the discomfort with "lending sites," as Anne Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00165000490599147009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-29843397440496399622012-08-04T03:14:07.582-04:002012-08-04T03:14:07.582-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Chrystalla Thomahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17334487899923017045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-17214464757592255462012-08-03T11:12:27.054-04:002012-08-03T11:12:27.054-04:00I updated this today to include some new info I sc...I updated this today to include some new info I scrounged up on lending. The 14-day period and such gave me a lot of comfort, but I admit, never having lent or borrowed, I don't know for sure how that works. Comments are very welcome from anyone who has more insight.Anne Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00165000490599147009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-59492295515868021102012-08-02T21:36:12.429-04:002012-08-02T21:36:12.429-04:00Thanks, Andrew!

Yet, I can't dismiss all the anger I see from other authors.

I reckon the best course is just to keep on keeping on, and just keep on getting one's name and work out there.

Anne Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00165000490599147009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-77718200193183224362012-08-02T20:09:18.905-04:002012-08-02T20:09:18.905-04:00Yes, the jury is still out whether piracy is harmf...Yes, the jury is still out whether piracy is harmful or might be beneficial in certain cases.

But I loved your closing sentence.Andrew Ashlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17024333581324342483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-69918946276808681372012-08-02T16:55:39.380-04:002012-08-02T16:55:39.380-04:00Yes, it's not a clear-cut thing, in my mind. It's very nice to be read, but, in the end, I'm kind of too tired to do this for nothing for long.Anne Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00165000490599147009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461215520773807773.post-47358552998904848862012-08-02T16:44:15.958-04:002012-08-02T16:44:15.958-04:00Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I feel like now I'm a "real" author since people want my books but like you I struggle with people reading all my books for free.Melissa Keirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10247037321769755660noreply@blogger.com
